Join a family-run vineyard in the heart of Hokkaido and dive into the art of Japanese winemaking. This hands-on experience is perfect for those with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. From grape picking and pruning to bottling and tastings, you’ll be involved in every step of the process. You’ll work closely with a passionate local grower, gaining insight into traditional methods while enjoying the peaceful countryside and mountain views. No matter your background, an open mind and curiosity go a long way in this unique cultural and agricultural experience.

Costs
PROGRAM $440
Not included in program cost:
- Travel expenses incurred for visit to Application Centre. The Working Holiday Visa is offered at no cost to Canadian citizens as per the Youth Mobility agreement with Japan.

Requirements
- Between the ages of 18-30
- Be of good physical and mental health
- Must provide a letter of good health from your general practitioner
- Hold a valid comprehensive travel insurance policy for the entire duration of stay in Japan
- No criminal record
- Must apply for working holiday authorization in person or by mail at a designated VFS center (cannot apply more than 3 months in advance to planned departure, but no less than 4 weeks prior to planned departure)
